Enrico G. Caiani
Enrico G. Caiani is professor of eHealth and Image Processing at Politecnico di Milano, Italy, where he completed his Master in Electronic Engineering (1996) and his PhD in Biomedical Engineering (2000). In 2000 and 2003 he worked as Visiting Research Associate under Proff. Lang and Mor-Avi at the Dept. of Medicine, Noninvasive Cardiac Imaging Laboratories, University of Chicago. Since 2014 he is Associate Professor at the Dpt. of Electronics, Information and Biomedical Engineering at Politecnico. Author of 4 book chapters, > 80 papers (total IF 184, ISI H-index=19, total citations >1400), in the last two years he was part of the program committee of several eHealth conferences, as well as invited speaker on eHealth related talks. In 2002, he received the Rosanna Degani Young Investigator Award (Computing in Cardiology Society) e in 2007 the A.E. Weyman Young Investigator Finalist Award (American Society of Echocardiography).
Main research interests include e-health solutions and m-health applications in the field of cardiology, as well as cardiac image processing and space physiology. Currently, he serves as Chairperson-elect (16-18) for the e-Cardiology Working Group of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC). He is member of the eHealth Unit at the European Heart Agency – ESC, and he represents the ESC at the eHealth Stakeholders Group of the European Commission in Brussels.
