Trudie C. A. Lobban
Trudie C. A. Lobban is a Trustee and the Founder of Arrhythmia Alliance (A-A). She is an award-winning, accomplished speaker, co-author, and an international authority on the arrhythmia patient experience.
Recognized as a world expert on all forms of arrhythmias, Trudie represents patients and their caregivers, as well as working closely with all those involved in the care and treatment of children and adults affected by cardiac arrhythmias and sudden cardiac arrest.
Trudie established Arrhythmia Alliance (A-A), The Heart Rhythm Charity, during the first Arrhythmia Awareness Week in 2004. Under her leadership, A-A has successfully lobbied a new Chapter in the National Service Framework (NSF) for Coronary Heart Disease on Arrhythmias. Trudie is a member of the expert group engaged by the Department of Health to produce the first significant healthcare document specifically addressing arrhythmia patients.
In 2010/11 the first International Roundtable Meeting was held, marked by the launch of the A-A International Medical Advisory Committee. Trudie is instrumental in the development of A-A National Partners throughout Europe, America and Asia. Trudie spearheaded the first international awareness event, World Heart Rhythm Day, supported by the World Society of Arrhythmias. The event has since progressed to an annual Heart Rhythm Week.
Since A-A’s launch, Trudie has been invited to present and participate regionally, nationally and internationally at clinical and advocacy meetings.. In addition to advising governments and healthcare policymakers, Trudie sits on a number of medical and advisory boards, steering groups and committees.
Trudie was made a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians FRCP (Edin) in recognition of the work A-A has done to improve the diagnosis, treatment and quality of life for all those affected by arrhythmias and was awarded an MBE (Member of the British Empire) for her outstanding work and services to healthcare.
