After obtaining his MD in Medicine and Surgery, at the La Sapienza University of Rome with full honors in 1988, Giuseppe Rosano, obtained his specialisation in Cardiology in 1992, before attaining his PhD in Medical Sciences from the Imperial College in London.
Professor Rosano’s areas of scientific interest include experimental and clinical pharmacology, heart failure, arterial hypertension, cardiac metabolism, diabetes and heart disease, and the cardiovascular effect of sex hormones. He has authored over 330 peer-reviewed articles, 3 books and 28 books chapters.
He is currently Professor of Pharmacology by Italian National Scientific Qualification, Consultant Cardiologist and Professor of Cardiology at the St George’s University Medical School in London and Director of the Centre for Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology at the IRCCS San Raffaele, in Rome. He currently serves as an expert in the area of Cardiovascular Medicine for the European Assessment Office of the Italian Drug Agency (AIFA), he is core member of the Cardiovascular Working Party of the European Medicines Agency. He is board member of the Heart Failure Association and Chairman of the Education committee of the HFA.
