Aleksandra Torbica is an Assistant Professor of Healthcare Management and Policy at Department of Policy Analysis and Public Management at Bocconi University and Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Health and Social Care Management (CERGAS) at Bocconi University. Since 2012, she has been the Coordinator of Health Economics and HTA Research Area of CERGAS. She was the Director of the Master of International Health Care Management, Economics and Policy (MIHMEP) at the Bocconi University School of Management (SDA).Her main areas of research and teaching activities include methodological issues in health economics and health technology assessment and use of economic evidence in health decision making.
Among other projects, from 2013-2015 she has been the Deputy Project Director of MedtecHTA (Methods for HTA of medical devices: a European Perspective), aimed at filling the gap on the challenges faced by the available methodological frameworks for HTA to evaluate medical devices. She is a member of the International Association of Health Economics (iHEA), European Health Economics Association (EuHEA). She is Secretary General of Italian Health Economic Association (AIES). She has co-authored numerous papers in health economics, healthcare management and health policy in international scientific journals. She is currently Co-Editor of Value in Health.
