Fred van Eenennaam
Fred van Eenennaam has broad experience as strategy consultant, in-company trainer and investor/non-executive board member across different industry sectors in Europe and the USA. He was educated as economist, received his doctorate in strategy at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and works for 50% percent of his time as Associate and Full Strategy Professor at different Dutch and international universities (Erasmus University, The George Washington University, St Gallen University, CETYS Universidad, a.o.). He collaborated in the design and teaches the very successful online EMHA program for GWU.
He is founder of the Value-Based Health Care Center Europe (VBHCE), which is based on the value-based healthcare concept by Prof. Michael E. Porter, Ph.D. (Harvard Business School). Each year, under the auspices of various international universities and with Prof. Porter as honorary chairman, the VBHCE organizes the Value-Based Health Care Prize. The Prize’s philosophy is to recognize, embrace and cherish endeavors that redefine health care and honors those doctors, hospitals, institutions and projects that have adopted a new and innovative solution to improve Patient Value.
Dr. Van Eenennaam and his team regularly host groups of executives and students in The Netherlands where they are immersed in a program including health and clinical management and outcome measures via visits to institutions as well as in-depth sessions using Harvard cases. He also gives advice on value-based health care and management to physicians and hospitals, has created the Life Sciences Outlook for the past 4 years and has written papers on outcome measures in cardiology, diabetes, gynecology, oncology and diagnostics. His academic research focuses on boards of trustees/hospital governance, outcome measures, (www.vbhc.nl) health policy making and implementation and leadership in health organizations.
